The Design Challenge

Design a solution to recruit passionate volunteers in a scalable and sustainable way yet cost-effective.
Grow the Goose provides financial empowerment to marginalized children and youth. They teach topics such as savings and investments. Nina, the founder, has recently relocated to Sabah and now has to rebuild her pool of volunteers to help teach these programs.

The Proposed Solution

The main idea that we would want to impose is to revamp Grow The Goose(GtG)’s website, a personalised personality test for the recruitment of volunteers and to focus more on advertising. The old website was deemed to be outdated, and therefore we would like to entirely transform it so that it would be more attractive and in par with today’s website trend. We would test out using wix and wordpress, and compare it to see which one is more suitable. After everything is done on the mock website, we would then hire a professional web developer to finalise it in an official website, together with the official domain. To boost their presence especially online and to attract more volunteers, we would use digital marketing(Facebook & Instagram ads) throughout the period of the project.

We would include a volunteer sign up form in the website whereby the volunteer would need to fill in their particulars and do a personality test. As per requested by Miss Nina, we would filter the volunteers through this personality test, and match the volunteer’s compatibility with Miss Nina. Throughout the period of 3 months, we target to get at least 50 applicants. In the website, we would also include an online shop(page) whereby the visitors can have a look and buy the graduate’s products online.
