The Proposed Solution

We are working closely with NgoHub to pitch our app donation idea to Razer, an affiliate with NgoHub to stimulate the interest of donating among young adults.

How We Did It?

The
Game Plan

Phase 1 | Planned Activities

Activity: Data Collection and Brainstorming
– Conduct a market research on Razer; Identifying Razer’s target audience, current and previous projects, and collaborations with NGOs.
– Identify similar initiatives in countries other than Malaysia; strengths and setbacks.
– CSR possible returns and expectations.
– Evaluate international e-wallets practices in terms of CSR and online fundraising.
– Chart user-flow for Boost and similar platforms with similar initiatives
– Alternate names for M.A.D. ‘Make A Difference’
Deliverable:
– Successfully identified Razer’s target audience, current and previous projects, and collaborations with NGOs.
– Successfully formulate a minimum of 3 similar initiatives present in countries other than Malaysia and e-wallets practices in terms of CSR and online fundraising.
– Plot user-flow of competitors and suggest 1 user-flow for Razer
– Top 3 alternate names for M.A.D.
– Identifying a minimum of 5 positive returns in implementing this project under Razer’s initiative.

Phase 1 | Actual Deliverables
End of May 2019

1. Came up with a way to integrate donating into Razerpay
2. Currently trying to pitch to Razer about this idea
Meeting 1: 30 May 2019
● This meeting was attended by Rita (NGOHub), Marcus and Imran (Positive X), Liaw Mei Ee (Selina) and Liaw Wai Kin (Jin).
● Discussed the direction of where we are heading and recap of the initial idea
● Traded some ideas on what we can pitch to Razer.
● Have decided to solely work on Razer’s pitch first while Rita gets contacts for the Razer team. Idea pitches were done solely on Razer as NGOHub requested us to work closely with their sponsors first and foremost before working on other e-wallet companies.
● End result is that we have to work solely on Razer’s pitch with the flow embedded inside

Meeting 2: 17 June 2019
● This meeting was attended by Imran (Positive X), Victor Tan, Liaw Mei Ee (Selina) and Liaw Wai Kin (Jin).
● Both Selina and Jin worked on the idea first pitched during Meeting 1 and discussed it with Imran. Victor joined the meeting and was asked to disseminate the information to Thashidaran as he missed the 1st and 2nd meeting.
● All members are informed on the direction.

27 June 2019 Log: Rita (NGOHub) had just informed that she managed to get in contact with Razer’s Marketing Director and would meet him first informally to verify our vision alignment. In the case that YZ Changemakers, NGOHub, and Razer are not aligned, we will be working on other pitch decks for other e-wallet companies.

We are currently awaiting for the final confirmation from NGOHub and Razer to proceed with our pitch deck. For now, we can’t proceed until we get confirmation.

Expectations are:

1. Confirmation of alignment between Razer, NGOHub, and YZChangemakers
2. Pitch to Razer

Alternatives are:
1. Working on our contacts (YZChangemakers, NGOHub, and Positive X) to get audience with other e-wallet companies
2. Work on the pitch deck to these e-wallet companies
3. Pitch to e-wallet companies

Phase 2 | Planned Activities

Activity: Sourcing and Pitching
– Source and recruit a Ruby Rails Developer in developing a prototype: Efforts in recruiting the developer without cost
– Pitch to Razer to gather insights on implementation

Deliverable:
– Recruitment of Ruby Rails Developer for prototyping
– Garnering insights on Razer’s implementation of this initiative

The collaboration between YZ Changemakers and NGOHub is not working out. To note, the recent disapproval by NgoHubAsia in approaching other e-wallets has resulted in a major setback for the team and the project itself.
– Had provided a contact to Rita for the Ruby Rails developer but no insight was given regarding this.
